Privacy Policy

How we handle your personal data, and the rights you have under UK data-protection law.

Last updated: 7 August 2026

1. Who we are

This website is operated by Rural Connectivity Group Ltd ("RCG", "we", "us"), a company registered in England & Wales (company number 15391384), registered office 5a Station Terrace, East Boldon, Tyne & Wear, NE36 0LJ. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. You can contact us at info@rcg-ltd.co.uk or on +44 7727 123 123.

2. What we collect

We only collect what we need to respond to you and run our services:

  • Enquiry details you submit through our contact form or send us directly — your name, company, email address, phone number and the content of your message.
  • Technical data created automatically when you visit, such as your IP address and browser type, held in standard server logs by our hosting provider for security and diagnostics.

We do not knowingly collect special-category data, and you should not send us sensitive personal information through the website.

3. How and why we use it (lawful basis)

  • To respond to your enquiry and provide the services you ask about — our lawful basis is our legitimate interests in dealing with enquiries and, where relevant, taking steps to enter into a contract with you.
  • To keep the site secure and prevent spam and abuse — our lawful basis is our legitimate interests in protecting our systems.

We do not sell your data and we do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling.

4. Who we share it with

We use a small number of trusted providers ("processors") who handle data on our behalf:

  • Microsoft 365 (Microsoft Ireland/Corporation) — delivers and stores the emails generated by our contact form.
  • 20i — our UK web-hosting provider, which hosts this site and its server logs.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile — provides the anti-spam check on our forms.
  • Postcodes.io — an open UK postcode service used to look up and validate a postcode you type into our quote form (it receives only the postcode, not your personal details).
  • Google Analytics (Google Ireland Ltd) — provides anonymised, aggregate website-usage statistics, and only if you accept analytics cookies.

We may also disclose information if required by law. We do not otherwise share your personal data with third parties.

5. Cookies & similar technologies

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site. It runs with Google Consent Mode and is set to "denied" by default, so no analytics cookies are set until you accept them via the cookie banner shown on your first visit. If you accept, Google Analytics sets cookies and processes limited data (such as pages viewed, approximate location and a truncated IP address) to produce aggregate, anonymised statistics. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not sell this data.

You can decline analytics on the banner, and you can change your mind at any time by clearing this site's cookies in your browser, or by using Google's opt-out add-on. Our anti-spam provider (Cloudflare Turnstile) may also set a strictly necessary token so the forms work securely — this is essential and not used for tracking.

6. How long we keep it

We keep enquiry correspondence for as long as needed to deal with your request and for a reasonable period afterwards for our records, then delete it. Server logs are retained for a short period by our host. We review what we hold and remove data we no longer need.

7. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of your personal data, to object to processing, and to data portability. To exercise any of these, email info@rcg-ltd.co.uk and we will respond within one month.

8. Complaints

If you have a concern we haven't resolved, you can complain to the UK's data-protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We'd appreciate the chance to help first.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be published on this page with the date it was last updated.
